Hepatic Angiomyolipoma
Hepatic angiomyolipomas are rare benign tumours. First reported by Ishak in 1976. Since then, the world literature showed only 32 cases including 8 autopsy findings. In this paper a retrospective analysis of the published data will be presented and the first report of the preoperative colour doppler and intraoperative sonography appearances will also be described.
متن کاملMultiple hepatic angiomyolipomas with a solitary omental angiomyolipoma.
Angiomyolipoma (AML) is a rare benign tumor that occurs most commonly in the kidney. Lesions in the liver are usually solitary and multiple AMLs of the liver are extremelyrare. Furthermore, extra renal or hepatic AML are rarely found. We report an unusual case of a 34-year-old man with a solitary omental AML and multiple hepatic AMLs. At the age of 23, the patient underwent right nephrectomy an...
متن کاملRenal and hepatic angiomyolipoma.
It is now common practice to undertake ultrasonography as the initial investigation of the renal tract but the finding of multiple hyperechoic tumours was quite unexpected. Such marked hyperechogenicity indicates a markedly fatty or fibrous consistency and excludes multiple cystic disease. Multiple well defined tumours in both kidneys is very suggestive ofangiomyolipomas, a benign hamartomatous...
متن کاملNail bed injury detected by ultrasonography.
A 46-year-old man presented to the emergency department after being injured with a press machine from his left hand 30 minutes before admission. Subungual hematoma was diagnosed in his index finger, although the nail plate was intact. Emergency physicians could identify nail bed injury with bedside ultrasonography examination. This noninvasive, inexpensive, and repeatable diagnostic modality co...
متن کاملHepatic angiomyolipoma: a case report.
We experienced a rare case of hepatic angiomyolipoma (AML). A 66-year old Japanese female presented inhomogeneous echogenic lesion in the lateral segment of the liver on ultrasonography. Contrast computed tomography (CT) revealed early arterial enhancement within the lesion that stayed hyperdense in the equilibrium phase. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) demonstrated a non-homogeneous and parti...
